Why it matters operationally

You cannot order two hundred and forty of something that ships in cases of thirty-six. Case pack is what turns a demand number into an order number, and it is the reason a consolidated total is not simply the sum of what people asked for. It is also the source of the modest oversupply every event ends up with.
