Space
A specific area inside a venue that receives material and has someone responsible for it — a hospitality suite, a media workroom, a concourse, a back-of-house store.
Why it matters operationally
The space, not the venue and not the department, is the unit that requests are actually made against. It is the smallest thing a person can be made responsible for, and it is where material physically ends up. Systems that model the building but not the rooms inside it push consolidation and delivery decisions back onto a human.
How Roadmap handles it
A request belongs to one space, and a space carries as many requests as the work needs — one build for week one, another for finals weekend. Each has a single current state, which is what makes “which version is current” a question that cannot be asked.
