Load-in

The physical act of getting material from a vehicle into a venue, through a specific gate or dock, at a specific time.

Why it matters operationally

A load-in is booked against a door, not a building. Two departments given the same slot at the same dock means one of them waits with a truck on the clock. Getting this right is mostly a matter of knowing which physical point a delivery is actually for, which is exactly the information that goes missing when addresses are recorded and access points are not.

How Roadmap handles it

Transit points are modelled as their own places with their own pins, so a delivery is addressed to the gate it actually arrives at rather than to the venue’s postal address.
